As reported by the NY Daily News, the artist, better known as Prince, is being sued by his former Manhattan law firm for $700,000 in legal fees. The firm, Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler, represented the "The Artist" in his divorce and several other matters.
The Manhattan Supreme Court suit says Prince, whose full name is Prince Rogers Nelson, paid only $125,000 for the firm's legal services.
"Nonetheless, the Nelson Parties have failed to pay an additional $708,687.04 due to PBWT," the suit says. "PBWT has repeatedly but unsuccessfully requested payment frm the Nelson Parties."
A lawyer for the firm did not return a call, while Prince could not be reached for comment at his Paisley Park Enterprises headquarters in Minnesota.
